This post doesn't contain still pictures

It's been a while, I know. I scheduled a blog post to be published by the 2nd of January but it never did due to acute procrastination.
I'm not going to post that anymore, even though I think it was a pretty good one about me coming back to Cornwall after the winter break -I might use it next year!-.

Anyway, this is an overview of all my 2d work over this second term that I've worked on with our new teacher, Nick.

As we started, we got assigned a skip cycle to animate to wam up our lazy animation brains. It was painful for me, it took me so much to figure out how to properly make it work that I never even properly finished the human figure I was working on. So I turned it into a robot cricket with uncanny human thighs. It's not centered on the screen and that triggers my low-key ocd quite a lot.

The second thing we worked on was a walk cycle from the front. It was a bit tricky, but I quite enjoyed working on it and it's probably the better looking thing you'll see in this post. So lower your expectations from now on.

Along with that handsome looking guy we worked on another walk cycle, this time with 100% more legs than usual. I had to choose a quadruped, so I chose a dog. I tried to make him look like the shady eyed dog from that great episode of The Simpsons but failed.

The next thing we worked on was lipsync and inbetweening. I thought I would've had a much harder time with that, but it actually was not too bad even though it was my very first time. Unfortunately, I have no audio with me right now, but I can tell you the script.
The guy on the right says "I'm not using the gun". The other guy says "wait... what?!".
I hope you have a fervid imagination.

I then inbetween my friend's work but it was so clean already that I did pretty much nothing more than adding black lines. Thanks Jamie.

Last thing we worked on, and it took us quite a lot of time, was the playground project. We had to animate a playground with at least eight character, at least one special effect and sound.
It took me a while, and it didn't turn out exactly like I thought it would have. Some of it was quite fun to animate, some of it was painful and made me want to switch to marine biology.
I hope you enoy it more than I do.

I'm proud of the yellow kid. He's really sassy. I believe I could've done much better if only I had more time to dedicate on it. But with five other active projects it was not the easiest task.

This is it for the 2d work I've done this term. I wish I had more time to work on personal stuff but I really don't because I'm way too slow.
Hope you enjoyed the product of my sweat.

Thank you, see you soon.

PS. Most of my work is done in a state of sleep deprivation. Keep that in mind when you watch any of it.
