That's where Shelterbox comes in!

The project that I'm most proud of is definitely the Live brief.
We had to project an advert for Shelterbox, a charity that delivers shelters in zones where it's needed, with a target of children from 7 to 11 years old.

I produced the project, and worked on it with a team of six talented people: Alex Bloxham (http://bloxsdoodles.blogspot.co.uk/), Felix Flook (http://felixflook.blogspot.co.uk/), Dan Fretwell, Stephan Georgiou (https://stephantheportraitdrawer.blogspot.co.uk/), Ashley Gibbins (http://animationash.blogspot.com/) and our director Jamie Gonzalez (http://themarmaladeking.blogspot.co.uk/).

It was exciting and we worked so well together I hope we'll have a chance to do it again at some point.

We tried to make it so that kids all over the world could identify with our little character. So we made them blue. And without any gender connotation. And bald. We tried to keep the design as plain as possible, to make it both cartoony / good for comedy and try to alleviate the bit in the script where we explain tragedies that might happen.

About the script: me, Jamie and Ashley wrote the first draft, and we rewrote it five more times with the rest of the group to get to the perfect timing and feel.

But I'm going to show it to you before going any further with explanations:

Animation was smooth, only three people worked on it (me included!) but we still finished it quite fast. Colouring was a bit more difficult because of software-related issues.

The worst part was editing it together, because it's a continuous scene but we had to break it down into four smaller shots. It worked out in the end after hours of editing.

Our super talented post-production guys managed to make it look amazing and polished in the end, I definitely do not know how! And the good old Dan was an angel and handled the sound brilliantly.

I have to admit I got a bit emotional when I finally saw the final thing. Even though we noticed some minor mistakes, we're all incredibly proud of our work on this project.
I hope you enjoyed half as much as me.
