A trip to the second dimension

Let's talk about 2d animation, shall we?

It all began with -drum rolls- a bouncing ball. Not much to say about that, it was my very first approach with TVPaint, and I loved it.
Unlike Maya, it was actually fun and easy to learn; there's not much more to say about that.

These are my first attempts at animating something with TVP:

After this, we had to make something completely different. A jumping box. A man that's also a box and it had to jump from one place to another.
I've always been pretty terrible perspective-wise, so I struggled a bit doing this at the beginning. After a couple of tries (which you'll never see!) I did this.
It's not too bad, I still think it works quite well:

Then we attempted a head turning. This one was a bit tricky, but I think I managed pretty well (I also edited it a thousand times but yeah-):

And a walk cycle, that was incredibly fun:

After this, we worked on something I believe to be of demonic origin, a water splash. Thanks to animation books and the internet I kind of figured out how to make it work properly.

Last but not least, we worked with elongated inbetween. Our tutor showed us a couple of old Looney Tunes shorts for reference (they were great, thanks Georg). At first, I tried to animate a ghost going at incredible high speed. I failed, it was rubbish, so I tried again. This time I tried with a pirate, it worked quite well even though I still have some doubts and need to properly put my head around the whole smearing thing:

That's all, folks!
Hope you enjoyed my 2D. Hopefully, you'll see quite a lot of it in the next study block because -yeah- that's what I chose.

See you soon!
